Here’s The Problem: Toddlers and Tiaras on TLC.

Have you watched? YOU MUST. It’s insanity. Last night a mother allowed her daughter to use the “stage name” TOOTIE. Really??????? (For the record, Tootie was a brat and a half and liked to refer to herself in the 3rd person….. )Last week, another mother, made her 5 year old daughter cry because her dress had a tear: “that’s gonna be points off!!”. Therapy Alert! Therapy Alert!

Actual Problem: Dressing little girls up and making them look like 35 year old Las Vegas Showgirls is not a good idea.

  1. I LOVE THAT SHOOWW IT SO FUNNY

  2. charming post. simply one detail where I quarrel with it. I am emailing you in detail.

  3. well i’m miss lakeshore and i won each pagent im in

  4. It’s horrible what they do to these little girls! Let kids be kids, don’t shove them in beauty pagents, because now, these little girls that were stuck in beauty pagents are going to rely on people to tell them they look pretty for the rest of their life. People are insane! What are they thinking? Don’t live your life through your daughter!

  5. ok! i agree with elizabeth let them be kids beuty pagents are for teens and womens not little kids!!!!!! but the show is funny

  6. Love the show I was once a pageant queen. I beg to differ on how they look, I say they look like beautiful porcelain dolls. I would also be upset if my daughter tore her dress after spending hundreds even thousands of dollars getting it made.

  7. Hey! I had to comment. I’ve recently watched this program and I have to say that I was utterly shocked with what I saw. Mothers who spend thousands of dollars trying to make their children look “35 years old Las Vegas showgirls” (I really think that is the best term for this). The kids are beautiful..and the parents put tons of makeup..hair wigs…fake eyelashes.. IT’S MORTYFING! there was even a mother who took her 5 years old daughter to the solarium..the kid was ORANGE! A gorgeous young girl became a scary porcelain doll. And we cannot forget the amount of pressure these kids are put into since they are only babies. Their childhood is being wasted trying to look perfect and flawless. I was absolutely aghast after watching the program. These kids will grow up spoiled and cocky..but it’s the world we live in..and it’s getting more and more fake and materialistic.
I have nothing against beauty contests..I just think that (as the name itself says) it is a BEAUTY contest..not “how fake can you get”? Mothers want to put their daughters in a beauty contest? fine..just put them as they are..as unique individuals..not just another barbie doll.

  8. i agree i hate this show and dispise it. to be honnest i see it as child abuse. i used to be in beauty contests as a lil gal and if i had a daughter i would concider putting her in one also. but i tell u what if i had a child that age and some one put mascarra or eye liner i would go off my head let alone all the rest of this crap. these girls really are beautifull girls but they will not think this they r being taught their make up dresses etc are the ones making them win. im discusted with this show and have issues to even watch the advertisements let alone the show

  9. it`s really awful… just no words can express how wrong is that they`re doing to these little girls… truly disgusting!

  10. this show actually makes me sad.
    its horrible..
but i have watched it from time to time… only cuz im so shocked @ the way these little girls act.

  11. pedophilia & emotional incest. plain & simple.
    and on TV at that!
    godblessamerikkka.
